Ford focus Engine Malfuctions?
I have a 2008 Ford Focus 1.6 tdi that all of sudden has lost power while driving on the A45. I had to pull aside and while the engine was still running at minimun the dash has displayed Engine Malfuction and then Brake light out. I could not move the car for over 30 minutes. After that the car has run again like nothing has happened.
Are you aware that due to the brake light out maybe the car has a security function which stop the car from running until you fix the lights?
It could be come kind of electrical malfunction.
Get a cheap OBD-ii unit and list any error codes.
Might be minor, might be a sign of major things to come (and time to offload car…)
- What engine type does the 2005 Mercury Monterey (Ford) van have? Is it a Nissan engine? Looking to buy a 2005 Mercury Monterey Van. I was told it has a Nissan engine by a friend. - Ford Focus - How much engine oil should my engine be using? I own a 2012 Ford Focus (Mark 3) 1.6 ti vct (petrol) with nearly 19 000 miles on the clock. How much engine oil (in mm) should this engine be using for how many miles of driving e.g. 500ml for 2000 miles of driving.
- Ford Focus 2008 1.6 Engine Lights Flashing/Blinking. Engine shakes when starting up and idle as well. Had smoke coming out yesterday? So yesterday when I was driving my ford focus 08 and stopped at a light, the exhaust started smoking. When I revved more it smoked more, but it was also smoking on idle a little. The CEL check engine lights are blinking slowly when I start up the car. What could this be? I was thinking spark plugs and/or ignition cables.
