Ford Focus: Check Fuel Cap light is on AND Can't Start Engine?

Engine doesn't start car was working fine until right now i don't know what the problem is any suggestions?

Always start off by what's going to cost you the least to repair.( common sense ) I say start by having you radiator flushed, and replace the thermostat.rust and corrosion can cause the thermostat to rust and stick this also will cause the computer of the car to act the way it is…( past experience) this would cost any where from 49 to 59 dollars. Unless you know a mechanic who has the right machine… Minor details can cause a big effect on a car.wish we had cars from the 50's and 60's Tighten the fuel cap and then put the key in the on position, step on the brake pedal and move the shift lever from park all the way to low or "1" several times and then try starting the motor with the shift lever back in park. If that doesn't work put the shift lever in neutral and try starting the motor. Well my first guess would be to go and check the fuel cap. Tighten it up if necessary. Then report back. What year ford focus? And what is the sub-model ie-lx, se, zx5? And then we can solve your problem! Thanks for the info it makes diagnosing these vehicles so much easier! The cap light is not related to the no start. But if the car has high mileage i would suspect the timing belt. But the Fuel pump and the FPDM (fuel pump driver module) both have high failure rates also.
