Check engine light comes on when fuel tank is low?
I have a 2000 Ford ranger that has a check engine light come on when the tank gets low, but it goes off when i fill it up. Any ideas?
Could be a bad tank sender or an issue with fuel pressure, when the light comes on you should take it to an autoparts store and have them check it with a scanner to see what codes come up and what they mean. It is a free service
This is another indication that you need to fuel up your vehicle
Have somebody read the codes.
My guess would be that it's an evaporative emissions control system fault, reporting on a self-test that runs only when the fuel level is below a certain point. (I've got one like that in my car.)
Get the code read. It's likely an emission code related to a leak. Charcoal canister vent valves that fail intermittently can cause that.
Read the codes.
- Check engine light comes on when the weather gets cold So I have a 2004 Ford Taurus SE and I bought it around a year ago. Now, every time the weather gets below around 50 or so the Check Engine light will turn on. But when it warms up to 55+ it'll turn back off. I use the system check in the car with the buttons and it says everything's okay. It'll probably shut off in 2 or 3 days, just wondering what's going on and how to make it stop?
- What Ford vehicles with a 302 motor comes with a 4 barrel carb (and only comes 302 with a 4bc)? I have a 1989 mustang gt motor and I'm making it carbureted and I'm looking for any vehicle with a 302 that carries a 4b. I'm going to a junkyard where they don't help with finding vehicles, so it would be helpful to know what vehicles only have a 302 with a 4bc, that way I can look it up on the website and know exactly where its at.
- Difference between SERVICE ENGINE SOON and CHECK ENGINE light? Is there any difference? I have a Ford Mustang 2002 and my SERVICE ENGINE SOON light is on. Does it mean something is wrong with my car? Do Mustangs also have a CHECK ENGINE light?
- Is it bad to have check engine light on for too long? Trouble code P1450: Unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum? My check engine light came on in my 2015 Ford Focus SE a couple days ago and I went to autozone to see what the problem was, and it said it was trouble code p1450 and it's unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum, and the solution is to replace evaporative emissions. I won't have any money to go get it fixed until Christmas, which I'm supposed to be spending in Chicago and I'm driving 6 hours. Is it safe to drive 6 hours straight and wait about a week to get this fixed?
