Ford focus brakes squealing?
My Ford focus from 2006 has gotten both front and rear brakes replaced this year. The squealing or screeching is coming from the rear. It's only when I back up or when I break in general. Sometimes it's quiet and others very very loud. It's not because the brakes are new either. I got the rear ones replaced in January. They are drum brakes in the rear.

I went to my mechanic and he said the brakes are fine. Could this be a lubrication problem? Or could it be my rotors?
You have drum brakes in the back, & they 'self-adjust' every time you put the brakes on going in reverse. You're probably hearing that adjustment.
Always apply anti squeal compound to the back side of the brake pads and they will never squeak.
- Obnoxious squealing noise in car? I have a 2001 Ford Taurus and it's making a squealing noise. I had the serpentine belt replaced and all the pulleys cleaned off and checked and it's still squealing. Any ideas on what it could be?

Pulled front brakes off my truck to see how wore out they were because they were squeeling put them back on perfectly no hassle and now when I drive I hear a horrible scraping noise on right front passenger side but I stop on a dime and my brakes don't get hot or smell I'm so confused please help?
- Why is my engine squealing? I drive a 2000 Ford Mustang v6. The engine was making quite a bit of noise while driving, so I decided to replace the serpentine belt. However, I noticed no change at all in the noise. Also, the squeaking continues for a short time even after I cut the engine and the serpentine belt stops moving all together. Leads me to believe it isn't a belt or bearing issue, but not sure what else it could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
- Why are my brakes locking up on my 2006 Ford Focus while driving? The calipers and brake pads have been replaced, but the brakes still lock up to the point of smoking wheels and the smell of burning metal. Also, when the brakes lock up the air conditioning blows hot air. It's very weird. Any ideas?
