2009 Ford Focus engine swap and crash bar removal

I'm doing an engine swap on a 2009 1.6 tdci Ford Focus estste replacing the old blown engine with another working one and from what I've read the engine can't be lifted out and has to be dropped out the bottom of the car. With no access to a ramp it makes life a bit awkward and the plan is to take the nose off the car (bumper and crash bar) and take the engine out that way. But I was wondering if this is even possible because I've read that on newer model focuses the crash bar can't be removed.

Also, I've read the form about registering the change of engine and it says it needs a main dealer stamp and signature. Does anyone know how much a Ford dealer will charge to do this here in Ireland?

Some oil.

It will not fit through the gap you create and the components are welded in place anyway - got to leave through the bottom. You are trying to DIY a job that you do not have the kit for.

I'm the original poster but For anyone looking for answers to the same question, the crash bar came off easily and the engine and gearbox dropped and slid through the gap. Easy

  • Ford Mustang engine swap to for lightning engine? Possible? Mustang 97 with a 02 ford lightning 5.4 engine can it be done? I was just wondering I want to start working on my car but want a engine swap.
  • Ford ka water pump removal? I've got a 02 plate 1.3 ka and the water pump is stuffed, I'm removed the pump but can't actually get it out with the engine and the chasis been so close together, anyone know how to remove it without having to drop the engine?
  • Ford f150 vinyl wrap removal? I have a 1999 Ford f150. Its black but on the sides it has a vinyl wrap along the the whole side on both sides and a piece on the tailgate. I was wondering if it would be possible to use a heat gun and remove it or if there's any other way to remove it. I know the paint will be darker black underneath it but i could buff it a couple times. I just want to know if its possible since it has been on since brand new.
  • 2002 ford explorer spoiler removal? So I have a 2002 ford explorer and it has a stupid freaking spoiler looking thing (I believe it's supposed to make air pass over the rear window to keep the window clear) on the top of the tailgate. So I'm just wondering if anyone would know (A) How to remove it? Or (B) where the heck to go to get it removed? I live in Salt Lake City Utah.
