Could be a number of things. Any check engine light?
A few guesses: Bad fuel pump and or clogged fuel filter. Fuel injectors clogged.
Check each vacuum hose, carefully inspect them. Open hood, start car, while standing on side of car listen for air hissing, locate area, turn car off an inspect. If original I would just replace all vacuum hoses. Do them ONE at time.
Idle air sensor bad.
MAF dirty. Air intake hose cracked.
Air filter dirty/clogged.
- 2000 ford ranger stalling and shutting off while idling? I have a quick question, last night I ran over a deer, the truck started stalling and would not pick up speed and accelerate Like it suppose to. The muffler was hanging and the oxygen sensor cable came unplugged, could that be the issue? Or any other ideas? The bottom looks solid nothing is damaged or bent, I did plug the oxygen sensor back, but no luck
- Owner of 2003 ford focus, car keeps needing a jump. Last time I did when the cables came off the car shut off? The car lasted a couple of days the last time I jumped it. I believe It's just my battery but how would I know it has anything to do with my accelerator as well?
- My truck keeps shutting off? I have a 1991 ford F-150 and sometimes when driving the truck will just shut off. It will also happen when I hit a bump. I don't want to have to get rid of the truck as it used to belong to my grandpa.
- My car shakes while at idle and while driving? I have a 2001 Ford Escort Sedan… My aunt and I have literally tried everything except a new engine and a new transmission… Everything else is new and was all flushed and blown out and it's still shaking while idling AND driving! We're clueless! We don't know what else to do! Could it be the car slowly breaking down for good?
