01 Ford Focus fuel pump replacement?
Hi. I have an 01 Focus SE. 2.0 SOHC engine. The fuel pump went bad on it. So I look online for a replacement and I see full modules and just pumps by themselves. Does this mean I only need the pump and not an entire new module? Also on the pump alone, it said its designed for units with metal support rods, and how do I know if my car has them?

If you did not have this problem before brake/drum replacement, then the most likely cause is failure of the installer to keep your bearings and hubs clean of contaminates during his work, and or did not clean and service them at the time he did the work, and or improperly tourqued the wheel bearing retaing nuts!
for reals!
If I was you, I would I would take a copy of this answer to them demand them to remedy the problem for free, or pay for remedy by anoither shop who will not be so negligent! Ford Focus Fuel Pump
Ford Focus Fuel Pump
- Location of 1998 Ford Taurus fuel pump. Does it have a fuel cut-off switch? Car shut down suddenyl without warning. New battery and cranks but will not start. Suspect bad fuel filter, 130K miles and fuel filter has never been replaced.
- My 1999 ford ranger has 20 lbs of pressure on the fuel line. Do i need a fuel pump? After I tested the pressure and shut the motor off the pressure went down to 0 quick. When I just turn the key I don't get any pressure
- On my 2000 ford mustang why does my air pump (smog pump) only blow air for 5 seconds after start up? Is that normal? I have p0411 secondary air injection system insufficient flow detected. I've checked the hose that comes out from the pump, it's blowing air but I believe it should blow air for much longer than 5 seconds on start up.
- Fair price for a fuel pump replacement? I had to tow my car to a shop for the first time ( i've never taken my car to a mechanic in my town before). They told me my fuel pump needed to be replaced, and that it would cost $581 parts and labor, on top of a $109 diagnostic fee. Is this a fair price? Basically I want to know if this is a good shop to continue to take my car to as I do not have a regular mechanic. My vehicle is a 2001 Ford mustang base model V6 3.8L, which unfortunately has a full tank of gas.
