Have they gotten more reliable?

Have Fords become more reliable? Or was it a big myth that they broke down a lot in the past?

I'm looking at a 2011 Ford Fusion with the 4cyl or V6 with ecoboost but I was wondering if it would be as reliable as a Accord/Camry of the same year.

Added (1). oops! I think I made a mistake with the ecoboost but the v6 is still being considered

Added (2). "V6, Flex Fuel, 3.0 Liter"

I've got a 2012 fiesta St and its possibly the greatest car ever

For 2011 there was no ecoboost anything in the Fusion. You had either the 2.3L I4, the 3.0L V6 or the 3.5L V6 (only found on the somewhat rare Sport model). There also a hybrid version available with the 2.3L. The first gen Fusions were very competent cars and compared pretty much on par with it's typical competition. Pretty reliable as far as American cars go, but probably a notch below the Accord/Camry.

You never know about a used car. Cars that last are the ones that have been taken good care of

I've got four Ford's and no problems with them.

Since Ford had to compete with Toyota etc it has steadily improved its reputation and is now regarded as equal to Toyota generally.
despite Ford's early reputation for car failures du to mass production an poor quality control. It like many other companies has learnt to improve. So essentially the answer you seek is Yes!

In my experience, when Fords get older, they do tend to have fairly frequent problems, but most of the time those problems are easy fixes.
