What's a better deal 2005 Honda Accord or 2014 Ford Fiesta?
The '05 Accord has 30,000 miles on it and with all fees included it'll be $11,000. The '14 Fiesta SE Hatchback has 26,000 miles on it and all fees included $14,000. My question is what would be a better investment. My concerns, even though Honda's are amazing, (I know, I've owned a couple motorcycles that have been dead reliable) it's an older car. I don't want to have to put money into it right after I buy it. The Ford is coming from Enterprise with a completely clean record and every maintenance needed was done on time. The Accord is just coming from a regular used car dealership and doesn't have records. I don't want to make a bad investment here and these are the two cars that I've narrowed my wants down to. I realize there are plenty of other cars out there but I like these two.
Hi if a ford although it might be new has that sort of mileage on it is not ever a good buy. In fact why not look for a newer honda car if you where prepared to spend 14000
dollars on a ford. The honda car like your motorcycles have a much better track record than any Ford.
2006 accord got better 'dependability' score than 2011 fiesta
2006 accord: http://autos.jdpower.com/research/Honda/Accord/2006/Sedan/ratings.htm
2011 fiesta: http://autos.jdpower.com/research/Ford/Fiesta/2011/Sedan/ratings.htm
2005 accord 'dependability' score not available.
accord crash rating from 2005 - 2014 has always stayed above 'marginal' : http://www.iihs.org/...sedan/2005
so 2005 accord likely at least as safe as 2014 fiesta.
2014 fiesta crash rating http://www.iihs.org/...hback/2014
They are not in the same segment to be compared but 2014 Ford is better.
The Honda is definetely a better deal even though it is 10 years old. My friend just hit 300,000 miles in his 96 Accord, and it's still running strong. Although it is awfully risky to buy a car with no history, as long as you put it in for its 30k mile service and continue with regular maintenance, the car should last you at least 100k miles. And besides, buying a rental car is also very risky considering the fact that you don't know what people used it for. But if you really are worried about the Honda's sketchy maintenance record, I'd get it checked out by a Honda mechanic. Hope you find the right car!
I would say the Ford Fiesta. It's a lot more economical, that's for sure. Even though the Fiesta is small, the cargo is practical. Fold the rear seats and you'll see the benefit of having a hatchback over a sedan. You safe money on maintenance, but the resale value is worrying since demand for a subcompact hatchback in America is pretty low compared to an older Japanese sedan. So it's fuel economy and low maintenance vs resale value. I would rather choose fuel economy because you don't have to worry a lot everytime you travel because it's economical.
That's a lot of money for a ten year old car, nobody in their right mind buys an ex-rental car I suggest you keep looking
- Ford Mustang GT vs Honda Accord? Ok, so this upcoming year I will be a senior. I plan on asking my parents to buy me a Ford Mustang GT (31k) or maybe just a V6 (22k) for senior year. I already have a car, which is a 2012 Honda Accord. It has has about 22k miles on it. I just wanna know if ford will last me throughout my college years and maybe when I have my own job, or should I just stick with my Honda accord. (I hear Hondas last long).
- First Car: Ford Mustang or Honda Accord? I'm turning 16 soon and debating on getting either a 1999 Ford Mustang V6 or a 1997 Honda Accord as my first car. Please choose one and explain why.
- 2016 Honda Accord Coupe vs 2015 Ford Mustang V6? Which one would be better for a first car? I'm Under 25 so insurance may be a problem for the mustang, I plan to keep the car until I graduate college or a year before that. I also care about looks more than speed. Also I want to know which one is cheaper to maintain since I live in the USA.
- Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, or Toyota Camry? I'm deciding between the ford fusion, Toyota Camry and Honda accord (all 2014). This might sound lame, but which car is 'cooler.' They're all similar in price and efficient for what I'm looking for. I don't really know much about cars so I'm afraid ill buy a grandma-like car.
