What Engine Oil do you put in a Ford Fiesta LX Zetec Auto 1998 1242 cc?
The Engine Oil light has come on, what type of oil do I put in?
If you've been driving with the oil light on it will be an engine you need, not oil. If you've stopped soon enough, like immediately, then any branded engine oil will be fine. The important thing is to have oil!
COUNTRY BOY does not seem to get that VISCOSITY ratings ALONE can guarantee ENGINE FAILURES! You need 5W-30 oil that meets FORD SPECIFICATION NUMBERS ONLY or BETTER! I only use MOBIL ONE 0W-30 in FORD ENGINES! It LOWERS firiction and prevents sensors and converter damages! BAD OIL CHOICES make SLUDGE, TAR and COKE that actually BAKES into sensors and engine metals! If it was up to ME, most oils would be banned from the market place TOTALLY! MOBIL EXXON makes JET and AIRPLANE fuel and lubricants! VALVOLINE is NOT used by ANY factory ANYWHERE and NO airplane or JET uses it ANYWHERE! Put TWO and TWO together, then! Your OIL LIGHT is telling you that SLDUGE is being made or that your oil level is TOO LOW or that OIL pressure is NOT correct! OI LCHAOICES are VITAL and a good OIL education wil help you for YEARS! PENNZOIL ULTRA gives a 15 year 500k mil OIL waranty it is THAT GOOD and well refined! AMSOIL gives a 25k mile oil change interval it is THAT good! Nearly All newer cars INSIST upon SYNTHETIC OIL to keep the warranty active! Why ANYONE uses cheaper oil change bargains AMAZES ME! JUNKYARDS are FULL of failed engines using CHEAP WAX REDUCTION OILS that can't handle heat and leave behind FUDGY CRUSTY deposits instead of holding contaminants in a BEAUTIFUL colloidal matrix! FORD uses CONOCO PHILLIPS refined oils. So many engines get RUINED by inferior oils it is UNCOUNTABLE! Oil pressure sensors get TAR baked into them and stop working right. <<OUR ENGINE REQUIRES A FULL SYNTHETIC OIL< so use MOBIL ONE 0W-30 to PREVENT issues down the road! Your OIL SENSOR will remain SHOWROOM WHISTLE STOP CLEAN and last for YEARS of worry free driving! ANY OIL CHANGE PLACE can help you make the decision as to WHY your LIGHT is on! TYPICAL oil LEVEL sensors are shut down the minute an engine is started! Many cars have HIGH and LOW oil pressure switches for DOUBLE protection! All cars have OIL PRESSURE RELIEF valves that change oil pressure as engine heats up! If YOURS jams up with TAR and baked in GRUNGE< it stops working and triggers the CEL light! It is BEST that you take car to FORD dealership JUST IN CASE! If you hear ENGINE NOISE< stop at once! DO you have any WARRANTY left on it?
5W-30!
The oil warning lamp does not warn of low oil level, that's what the dipstick's for, it warns of low oil pressure.
If you've been driving with that light on, the engine's probably f***ked, take it to a garage and find out how much damage has been done.
Hi as usual the country boy is right. The other long winded sentences above are just nonsense as usual.
- I need to put a different engine in my 1982 Ford Ranger Lariat and I don't know what to put in it? It's the biggest engine you could get at the time in those trucks, so it is a v8, I just don't know the exact size. Since the engine is pretty much dead that's in it I was wondering if almost any v8 could go in it's place or if it has any specific engine that has to go it in. Also any good suggestion for a good engine would be great.
- Ford (Fiesta) 1.25 Zetec engine vs 1.3 Endura engine? Although the Zetec is perhaps a smoother engine I've also read the Endura engine is a simpler design and there's less that go wrong with it i.e. Chain driven timing belt and less electronics.
- What happens if you use the same bottle you put gas in to put water in your radiator? I accidentally used the same bottle I put gas in to put water in my 99 Ford Explorer radiator and now it's been over heating non stop, I'm on the side of the highway now. The water comes out brown and gooey and I bought Prestone Flush+Cleaner, twice I followed the steps and it still overheats and the brown gooey stuff, oh yea and I'm not sure if this is bad but there's white smoke coming out of the exhaust
- How would you get a engine to TDC after a belt snap on a 1.6 zetec? On my old Ford Escort zetec, the belt snapped and i just scrapped it but it does bring the question, I know how to get the bottom part of the engine to TDC that's simple enough but how would you get the Cam shafts to TDC?
