Fitting oil temparature sensor?
I would like to fit an oil temperature sensor to my car to test a few experiments. One option was to replace the sump plug with a temperature sensor however I'm having difficulties finding one to fit.
no need to worry about fitting instructions I can do all that but do any of you know where I can buy a temperature sensor and gauge that will fit a ford fiesta 2007 model 1.25 Duratec engine (UK model so it will be a hatchback). If any more information is needed I will be happy to provide but I think they use the same size plugs throughout.
I'm happy to pay for shipping from America or any other country but if they do not produce such things just let me know and I will look at other alternatives.
Here's what you can do. Pull the Oil Pressure Sender (Switch) and install a T. The OPS screws into one side and a Themocouple screws into the other. That's what I did. Your OPS is either on the Oil Filter Housing or screws into an Oil Galley in the side of the Block.
- Oil pressure sensor not working? My oil pressure constantly reads nothing. I recently purchased a 2000 ford ranger with a 4.0L V6. Well, it constantly reads nothing on oil pressure. The motor has no knock and runs smooth… Do you think it is just the sensor? The oil pumps probably wouldn't be out would it? The truck has 170000 miles on it.
