Car slides/loses traction when turning right

It's a Ford Fiesta 2006.

Whenever I'm turning right especially at slow speeds of about 10mph it's very noticeable and feels as if the back end is sliding out and losing traction, feels as if I'm hydroplaning but it happens when it's conpletely dry

Tread depth is good on tyres nothing wrong with that, could it be the air pressure? Concerned as I don't want to be driving it when that's happening cause I'm actually having to correct the slide.

I have had a few problems with it recently but this is just getting to be a headache now! It's only when turning right.

Any ideas?

"could it be the air pressure?"

why not go check? It takes 2 seconds. Buy some tools.

It may be the air pressure.
It may be the suspension

You have a suspension/steering issue for sure. How bad is it? If you have to correct for it on right turns, it's really bad.
Have this vehicle towed to a local trusted shop and have this checked out.
You are severely endangering everyone & everything near your driven path, including yourself.

Yes, could be tire pressure or a broken suspension component. Check pressure first, if that's not it, off to the shop.

There's absolutely no reason a car should slide at that speed unless you're punching the gas hard as you round a corner or there's loose gravel there. It's probably just your inexperience, but personally I think you're imagining it. If anything, it's a problem with the the component located between the seat and the steering wheel.

"Could it be the air pressure?"

Have you even effing bothered to check the air pressure in the tires? Don't ask us, go check it for christ's sake! An air gauge only costs a couple quid and you should keep one in the car at all times.

Just by using your eyeballs, you can see if the right side matches the left side squish in the tire. Comparing front to front and rear to rear. If they look about the same, then chances are they are.
Could be a worn out shock absorber… Which control body roll. If the shock is leaking then the momentum of weight of the body is following like on an elastic band… With the "doi-ng"type whipback. Get a suspension shop to give her a look. It sounds like it is "floating"
. You tell them your problem and they know if it is in their field of knowledge of repair. It also could be a broken suspension spring.
. They actually have to see it to do tests basically using a crowbar to see if stuff is moving that should not be moving. Get a quote on repair costs from them & what it is.
, Then shop around or do yourself.
. The answer is in your past. Has this car been "ditch jumping" or "curb jumping" or almost cleared that huge pothole at quite high speed kind of bang? Cars are tough, but not indestructible. So, if you recall the Dukes of Hazzard type driving (they did damage a lot of vehicles) with the jumping about… In your driving past… There's the likely answer why.

That is my guess from your description. Really have to see.

50+yr mechanic.

Very low tires will have poor grip. Some cheap tires don't grip that well anyway. You might have one low tire. At least look them over.

First four words said it all: "it's a ford fiesta". Drove one (rental car) and it sucked big time. And it was a brand new car. I wouldn't own one unless it was given to me. Then I'd sell it to someone foolish enough to buy it. AS IS! NO WARRANTY, NO GUARANTEE, IMPLIED OR DIRECTLY.

It is likely more of a suspension issue. See a mechanic and have him take a look at the car on a lift.

Check your tyre pressures. There's normally a sticker on the door pillar of glove box, but if in doubt go with 32psi, it'll be close enough.

  • Pickup traction: what should I put in the bed for winter? 1992 Ford Ranger. I live in an apartment so firewood is out. Something which will not be stolen. Bags of road salt in waterproof bins? Southern Ohio and winter may be nasty; need weight behind rear axle. Looking for ideas taking up only width of bed but less than 2' front to back since I want to use most of the bed for day to day stuff. Rocks? Quarries around here but want something multi-purpose.
  • Ford Mustang v6 abs/ traction control light on and brakes are locking up? I was driving yesterday and the abs and traction control light came on so I pulled over and shut off the car, I tried starting it again and the battery was dead. I got the car jumped and drove it about a mile and the brakes just started locking up and the cars lights were flashing, none of my Gage s were working and it said I have no gas when my gas tank was full. It was weird, does anyone maybe have a clue what could be wrong with it?
  • Entire car loses power when we floor the gas. Gauges reset until we let off gas. (still drives) 02 ford mustang. The car loses power to everything. (Except what's needed for the vehichle to stay running.) Can still drive it. What are possible problems? (AC does not affect anything )
  • Traction control causing shaking at takeoff? 2012 ford focus titanium, my first new car. I noticed pretty quick it shakes at around 10mph for a second. I take off pretty quick, could it be because traction control? The TC light doesn't come on. Any ideas?
