Why would cd player in a 2002 ford 150 say bad disc when the disk is fine?

Is it a burned disk? Car CD players have trouble reading those. It is the way they are burned, or newer blank CDs have a bit more "space"/minutes on them, so older CD players can't read them.
And the speed and way it is burned can render it not readable.

CD type might not be compatible. (CD-R, CD-RW, etc.)
