Which truck should I purchase?

I'm in dire need of a truck for work. My only problem is that I can't decide what size or model I need/like. I will absolutely need an extended or crew cab on a quarter ton, but don't know if I should look at regular cabs on the halves due to price equalization. I'd really like four doors, because I think I'll be having children in the next few years. All trucks will be two-wheel drive and WT-(ex 1LT trims).

My choices:
Nissan Frontier - (I'm in love with this small truck)
Chevy/GMC Colorado/Canyon
Chevy S-10
Dodge Dakota
Chevy Silverado 1500
Dodge Ram 1500
Ford F-150

I hate dodges usually have transmission problems mainly in the late 90's early 00's. Maybe better now. Chevy s-10 good little truck i've owned 4 since the early 90's. Nissan frontier I have 2 right now. Both king cab models and both 2wd. One is the 14' s model basic 4 cyl, and a 15' desert runner v6 plenty of power. Other trucks I don't know. Never been in them. If you are having kids in near future I would pick a full size 4 door truck. Ford f150 or a chevy Silverado. Frontier, canyon, and the new colorado back seats are too small for my liking.

None. Get a Jeep Wrangler.
They are fun.
They can carry a lot more luggage than you think.
They last.
And the tops are removable…

I normally run full size GM or Dodge Trucks 2 wheel drives. I had an S-10. It was a great truck for what it was. My son is always telling me that I should get 4x4, but I look at the mud behind my house sometimes and am really glad that I don't have 4x4 or the truck would probably be stuck in the back yard and take 300-400 feet of cable and a big 4 wheel drive tractor to pull it out. My son prefers Cummins powered trucks. He has a 1 ton Chevy Quad cab dually, a Dodge 1 ton single cab dually, and a 3/4 ton Ram mega-cab. All three have Cummins in them. His other trucks have Chevy or Jeep (almost a Dodge) engines in them. Neither of us think much of the J ap engines and transmissions.
