Which is best and why?

I'm looking for best gas milage ( I know it won't be like a cars mpg)

Reliability ( won't break down or need fixing have problems etc) I do take card of my vehicles and do regular routine maintenance etc

And safety/ comfort for my family and myself

So reliability, fuel economy and overall quality of the vehicle are important

Looking for real world opinions in these trucks and why you would recommend your choice

I will be towing a midsize pop up trailer and need the bed for hauling firewood and occasional things like furniture etc

And want a truck that will last years

I just saw a video of Dodges new 1500 with the new eco diesel. The only 1/2ton with a diesel.pulls 9300 pounds and i think they said close to 30mpg. It was a youtube video. You should be able to find it.

Without a doubt.Go with Ford F150.It is the highest rated truck for decades. I have two antiques.A 1962 F450 and a 1977 F100. My every day truck is a 2006 F250 crew cab Lariat 4x4. 5.4 L engine Auto trans.Great truck. Will tow anything. If you are looking to buy an older truck.Find one with a Triton engine or a 7.3 L diesel. The 7.3 diesel is indestructible. Stay away from the 6.0 L diesel.It has issues. My 1977 has over 400.000 on it and still runs great. The F150 has the highest reliability and owner satisfaction ratings of any pick up trucks on the market, both new and used… Make sure you get a truck that has a factory towing option including a trans cooler and not just one with a hitch. As long as you stick with regular maintenance and yearly oil undercoating, You will enjoy it for many years. Clean oil is the heart of any engine.
