Would like opinions on Ford Five Hundreds?
How are they holding up? How well do they drive and handle? What are they getting for fuel mileage? Both AWD and 2WD's?
Ford Five Hundreds generally are very reliable. MPG for AWD versions are around 17/23 city/highway, so not that great. Keep in mind 2wd will get around 3-4 mpg better in both categories. Edmunds.com says "both a comfortable ride and competent handling, with nicely weighted steering," so it sounds good. Remember, handling on a car is a personal preference, so go for a test drive in the car before you buy it. One thing you should keep in mind when being a used car, however, is you should always have it inspected by a mechanic or person knowledgeable of cars NOT from the same place you are buying it prior to the purchase. You don't want to get screwed over. Trust me, i've been through the old dog and pony show.
Good answer from "Bob" but you also look at the edmunds website where they have lots of info on almost any vehicle
The Ford 500 was just a Taurus. They renamed it to 500 nobody wanted it so they named it back to Taurus.
I had a 1994 Ford Toreass. I'll never own another Ford.
- Why do some companies like Ford have a 5year warranty and others like Hyundai have a 10year warranty? Does the company with the longer warranty trust in their product longer? Or they know that the owner will have to do a ton of repairs and without a back up no one would ever buy them?
- Opinions about a 2007 Ford Crown Vic? Thinking about buying this 2006 crown vic. I heard the air ride suspension is a headache to fix. This seems like a good tough car, they use them for Taxi's don't they?
- Need opinions on a Ford Employer 1996? I can pick up the above SUV with 141,000 miles for $700.00. It looks and sounds fine just will need new tires. I've never bought a vehicle with high miles like this and am a little afraid of major repairs down the road. Give me an honest opinion on this SUV
- Opinions on 2006 Ford Fusion SE? Looking at a 2006 Ford fusion SE with 110k miles for 5k. Gonna go look at it, but I come from. GM family and the only Ford cars I know anything about are panther platform cars. I know a lot of people drive fusions but how are they? Only really concerned with reliability
