My truck squeals when in gear how can I fix it?
I have 2001 Ford f150 and when I start it up and shift it into gear it starts squealing. At first I thought it was the belt but after using a full can of belt dressing I realized that it isn't the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated
Check the transmission fluid level. If it's low, add some. If that doesn't help, go to a transmission shop.
Have the transmission checked. DON'T just add fluid if it is low. If the transmission is squealing, you have ALREADY damaged the transmission.

- Help truck isn't going into gear and when I let the clutch out it does? I have a 2001 standard Ford ranger. I barely had a new clutch put in last year. But anyway I was going down highway in 5th gear and as I was going to put it in neutral it made a loud popping noise and then died. So I went to the side of the road and tried starting it, nothing. It starts up fine but the minute I let off the clutch it dies and when I try to shift it into 1 3 or 5 it feels like some thing is blocking it it'll act like it goes into 2 an 3 but it doesn't engage.
