Ideas for a off road looking f150?
So here's my situation, I'm a junior in high school in San Diego and lifting trucks and making them look off road is the thing to do here, so obviously since I have a truck I HAVE to make it look up to par with the SoCal style. I have a 2008 Ford F150 Xlt regular bed, super crew,5.4 triton, and 2wd.
So my question is: How should I lift my truck and make it look like an off road truck? I already have a 2.5 leveling kit on it but that doesn't make it look menacing enough. I'm also looking for something not as expensive because my budget is tight and gas is also expensive so I'm not looking for a 6 inch lift that will lower my gas mileage to 10mpg but something that will lift it at least 2 or 3 inches more. Also what type of wheels and tires, I have stock rims and 33s on it but that bigger tires make the truck run sluggish. I've heard of getting aftermarket adjustable shocks that will lift my truck another 2.5 inches or getting longer spindles. I'm also trying to avoid a body lift because it's hard to get those to look right with the weird angles. I'm pretty sure that's it through so please help me make my truck look good!
This is a really bad idea. Handling cornering etc suffer badly with lifts. Why not get low profile tyres and lower it. The mock offroad look is so lame. Are you a sheep or an individual?
- What do i need to make my truck an off road truck? I have a 2998 ford ranger. 4.0/ manual. What do i need to make my truck a good off roading pre runner? (Suspension, light, fenders)
- I have a '99 Ford Ranger with the 4x4 Off Road package. Does this include a heavy duty suspension? It's also a 6cyl 4.0 liter. I need to know because I need to change my rear parking brake cable and it specifies with or without heavy duty suspension. How would I know?
- Am looking to buy my first pickup what's better Ford Ranger or F150? I'm looking to buy my first pickup and i'm choosing between a 2000 Ranger or a 2000 F150 both with less then 130,000 miles. So i have test drove the F150 and i really like the truck but i haven't test drove a Ranger just yet so i just want to know which is a better truck. (Which would you choose) I want a single Cab for both I will try to test drive a Ranger soon before i make my choice thank you all
- Off road tires on a Crown Victoria? I have a 2011 Crown Victoria P71. I've always wanted to put some off road tires on my car but didn't want to buy the wrong tires and rims for my car. I was looking at buying some 17" rims for Ford (from what I've seen those are the right size rims) and I wanted to get some off road tires on it. The main questions I have are would off road tires actually fit on my Crown Vic p71 and are there any meaty/Off road tires that would just fit on my regular rims?
