If you really want it out, you'll have to go into the defrost ducts inside the dash…
If it's metal, try a narrow pen-style magnet (they look like the old telescopic car antennae) and you can try and attract it. If it's plastic or non-metallic (like CHOCOLATE!), there are tools that you push the end and little grabbers come out (Cheap at the auto parts stores) and maybe you can snatch it out.
Other than that, it's a MAJOR project to remove the dash and heater parts to get to the actual vent system.
If it's hard to see where it went, try a little open-road swerving to line it up to an accessible place. : )
Good luck. In the future remember, "NO M&M's on the dashboard!"
- Heater isn't hot enough in my car, is there a way to make the heater better? I drive a 1998 Ford Taurus Wagon, the heater on it is alright but when it's 10 degrees outside it kinda sucks. Is there an actual way to make your heater hotter?
- I have a 1997 ford ranger XLT and there's something wrong with my heater? When I turn the heat selector it doesn't do anything. Could there be something wrong with the vacuum. My truck is a 2.3 l 4 cylinder with 8 sparkplugs. How can I fix this? Also could something be preventing the trap doors from opening when I put it to a different selection
- What could be the problem if the coolant drains fast and once it drains out the heater doesn't get hot? There's also a smell to it, and the coolant only last for about 2 days… What culd the problem be for a 2010 ford mustang
- How to get out of an upside down car loan? I need to purchase a family car, I have a 4 year old and a 2 month old baby. I currently drive a 2008 Ford Mustang that is worth about $6,000. I owe $7,710 on it, pay around $400 a month plus $170 for car insurance since I'm under 25. The car has some bumper damage, over all it's in a fair condition. I also owe $2,670 on a credit card, $1,670 on a student loan and have an emergency fund of $1,000. Any suggestions?
