Ford f150 2007- making a whining noise, I have replaced power steering pump?
I was told by a shade tree mechanic that there was air in the lines, bc while it's running the fluid level in canister is moving around a good bit. What's the line i need to break to drain fluid out completely
The fluid level is always moving around because the pump is always running. Draining the fluid will only add more air. Turning the steering wheel lock to lock a few times will remove the air, unless of course you have a leak.
- If my power steering pump and pulley break, is there any other parts I may have to potentially replace? Last night when I was driving, my power steering pump busted and also broke my power steering pulley. I have a 2002 ford Taurus. In the process of the pulley breaking off, the serpentine belt came off. It is still on the car so I just have to re position it once the new pulley is on. My question is through this incident, could anything else have broken? I just did a bypass pulley for the AC compressor last week. And I also replaced the serpentine belt last week.
- When changing the power steering pump on a KA (54) can you use PTFE tape to seal the pressure line from pump? I have changed the power steering pump on a ford KA (54) and when removing the pressure line from the pump there was some kind of seal on it but I don't know what it was, so I was hopping that PTFE tape would do the same job at sealing the thread. Any help please. Andy.
- My ford focus 2007 making too much noise. How to reduce? Is there anyway i can reduce my cars noise down. My silencers are fine but still while driving without music on i find it too noisy… I wonder if i could do something.
- I have a 2004 Ford F150 and when the weather warms up the power steering stops working? When the weather is cold the power steering works fine but when the weather starts to warm up the power steering stops working the belt looks fine but if the pump was bad then why is power steering working just fine in the winter time
