If my power steering pump and pulley break, is there any other parts I may have to potentially replace?

Last night when I was driving, my power steering pump busted and also broke my power steering pulley. I have a 2002 ford Taurus. In the process of the pulley breaking off, the serpentine belt came off. It is still on the car so I just have to re position it once the new pulley is on. My question is through this incident, could anything else have broken? I just did a bypass pulley for the AC compressor last week. And I also replaced the serpentine belt last week.

You have two choices: Buy a re-manufactured pump and pulley from NAPA or Carquest or both from a Ford dealer. One word of advice: Aftermarket pulleys (NAPA & Carquest) which are made in China are very difficult to press on the pump. You're better off buying the pulley from a Ford Dealer.

What's the odds the "by-pass pulley" had something to do with this issue? Have a local junk yard? Might pickup a pump WITH pulley already to go, just flush pump with new fluid. Some pulleys are threaded on but most are press fit. Can be a fun job installing one on a new pump without bending / warping it.
