Can I use choke cleaner on an idle air control valve?
Can I use carb and choke cleaner to clear out my idle air control valve on my 1995 Ford F-150 xlt 4.9l in line 6?
Oenuhola
Yes
Mouodlpl
Yes.
I don't know why not.
Choke cleaner is the same as carb cleaner and they both will remove the coating around the wires in the IAC valve windings and cause them to short out.
Only use throttle body cleaner or brake cleaner spray.
I'm thinking that is too strong a cleaner.
- Changed heater control valve AND panel and still only hot air? It's a ford ka… Was blowing hot air out air con when switched off. So changed the valve and worked for a day then back to normal… Changed the panel (2nd known problem) and that hasn't worked? When my engine is off… I can get cold air?
- Changed ford ka heater control valve. Still blowing hot air? My car was blowing got air constantly when off or on cold dial. Iv changed the heater control valve twice and now it still blows hot but then does work at times (blows cold on cold). What now?
- What is the difference between a Electronic control module and Engine control module? I recently bought a cheap Ford Focus which was affected in floods… I got the water of the engine and pretty much all the places, all my lights and few other electronic functions work… But my engine doesn't turn on and my HUD is dead, but works on another car… What should i do?
- Can an aftermarket air cleaner on a ford focus 03 cause an obd p1440 evaporative system code leak? Looking to buy a for focus 03 hatchback. Owner claims he has been driving on a check engine light for two years that reads p1440. He claims it is because past owner put an aftermarket air cleaner in and can't get rid of code. But p1440 is an evaporative systems leak like your fuel filter or emissions etc. Is this possible. Also would you buy this car if this guy drove two years on that check engine light. Is it really much to do about nothing. He claims car runs great.
