2001 frod f 150 heard snap sound now feeling a pulling/drag?
2001 Ford F-150 xlt ext cab 5.4 4x4. 155,000 miles. My truck was driving and riding perfect, no problems what so ever, on my way to work I heard what sounded like something cracked or broke front the front, got to work f i ne no problems looked and everything noticed nothing, left work seemed fine hit a bump heard the same/ close to same sound and now the truck feels as if its draging, and not riding smooth anymore. Everything seems to be solid and where its suppose to be, any idea would help.
Your truck is old enough to have cracked or broken a spring. It's possible for a spring to break and look mostly normal… Sometimes the springs are wrapped in a rubber "boot" in certain places etc., making spotting where it broke that much more difficult. Sometimes when springs break they don't dramatically let loose or go through the tire below them… At first.
The sound you describe is consistent with the sound of something breaking suddenly. I'd recommend either you or a shop look the suspension over very thoroughly to make sure a spring or some other major suspension component didn't break. If a spring did break, it might let loose if you try to lift the affected wheel off the ground, so use caution if you lift the wheels to get them off for a better look at the suspension. You definitely don't want something like a broken spring letting loose at speed while you're driving either, so I'd look it over/get it looked at as soon as you can.
Broken shock, leaf spring Maybe a coil spring If you have a leveling kit check the spacer thats used level it out
- What car should I start with for drag racing? I'm thinking about starting to drag race with a couple of friends. But at a track! Not on the street with the friends haha. I was wondering what car I should start with? Preferably American made, easy to work on, and hopefully a mopar car? If not ford or chevy will be fine. And also where should I look for one? And should I start from the ground up? Or get a finished one? And if so what parts should I get?
- When I depress the clutch medal on my 2001 ford Taurus I can feel a scraping feeling under neath the brake pad. What is causing this? It has new pads, rotors, calipers, it's been bled. So it would be nice to locate this so I can fix it.
- My warrantied cars Bill of sale says as is, are they pulling a fast one? I just bought a certified per-owned Ford with warranty and financed by Ford. Came home and realized the bill of sale says "as is" and the warranty paper has our signatures but no vehicle info. I have 3 days/300 miles to return it no questions asked. Are they trying to pull a fast one?
- Which one of these cars will win in a drag race? 2015 dodge challenger hellcat, 2015 ford mustang gt350, or 2015 z06 corvette? Also, which of these three do you prefer driving?
