Depends on what your mechanic said after the inspection.

Get it inspected - by a mechanic YOU chose.

I have a 95 f 150 5.8l. Its not for sale 170,000 miles and very dependable. You will probably need some simple stuff to maintain like hoses and maybe brakes but might be a good deal. I've been offered 4k for mine

Not bad. It wouldn't happen to be a 4x4, would it?

No.

at that mileage the transmission is worn out and will soon stop working, a transmisson replacement will then cost double the price the lady requires for that old vehicle now. A vehicle that soon requires more money than its purchase price to drive is not worth purchasing, except for someone who has the know-how and enjoys working on vehicels to do the transmission replacement by the own self, without paying these expensive workhours for a mechanic.

This can be a bit hot and miss. If we buy a lemon we end up shelling out for repairs and will lose. However .price is decent at that mileage and if it has a full service history. Then odds are treated half decently by yourself ought to see double that but will of course need surviving and probable spares as we use.
if we have a mechanic check it out we may find worth while. Essentially nobody can guarantee anything. Do we care to risk what is essentially not a greta deal of money. If it blew up next week. Would we be ok getting just scrap value etc.

If it has been maintained, it will go for many more miles. Have it checked out because "some rust" could be serious rot. Make sure the title matches the car and is in her name.

Congratulations on finding the only 1994 F-150 in the world with a 4.9L V6.

1,200 is a decent price…

Has the timing belt been replaced?

Looks good from here
