You do not mention vehicle make, model, or year, but i'll bet that the fault code needs to be purged from your ECM. That is, the code has to be cleared. I'm assuming your car is newer than a 1996, so this is a real easy procedure for anyone with an OBD II reader.
Could have a small EVAP system leak, have a shop perform a smoke test
Yo can either reset the light with a code reader, or disconnect the negative battery terminal for awhile (barring radio code loss) or drive it for a few cycles, ignoring the light. It should shut off by itself.
Run it as normal for a few driving cycles. Light should go out itself as long as the fault was fixed. If the light stays on a few days, get it checked out.
Minor hc leak. Tighten the cap until it clicks 3 times.
Chances are the light will go out after you have stated the car 5 times r so. Unless you are not tightening it enough or there's another fault.
- 2003 ford taurus ses sedan 3.0L OHV (vin: U) Loose fuel cap warning light (yellow light)? My "loose fuel cap warning light" is on inside my car. I had the gas cap replaced and no codes show up on the OBDII scan tool. What could cause the light to stay on?
- 2003 Ford Taurus SES oil light and gas cap light? My cars oil light (red) and gas cap light (yellow light down and left from the oil light) is on in my car. I used a scan tool and no codes came up. It's not leaking oil and everything is fine. I just do not know why the two lights are on? I bought the car about two months ago and the lights were on before i bought the car… any reason they're on?
- 2014 Ford Fusion gas cap causes check engine light. What do i do? I have a 2014 Ford Fusion Energi, brand new. Today my 'Close Fuel Door' notification kept popping up even though it was closed. I opened and closed it a few times. Shortly after my check engine light came on. I'm almost positive it has something to do with that as it is a brand new car that is well maintained. So my question is, what can/should I do?
- Ford Focus: Check Fuel Cap light is on AND Can't Start Engine? Engine doesn't start car was working fine until right now i don't know what the problem is any suggestions?
