Why does my 2000 Ford Explorer shake badly when taking a sharp right while lightly braking?
Just had the front ball joints replaced (upper and lower). I took it for a test drive on a route with lots of turns. When taking the almost 90 degree turns at ~35mpg and lightly breaking (only when turning right), I felt like I had run onto a road with a bad washboard and some loose rocks. I've taken these same turns before the repair was done and no issues.
Best thing to do is go back to the shop that did the work, and have someone - preferably on of their mechanics - go with you so that he/she can personally know of what you are telling them about
I do not understand the question.
If this is a new symptom then obviously it is something related to the work you just had done. Recheck it.
- What causes vibration and skidding tires while braking? I have a 1997 ford aerostar, and it runs beautifully. The only issue is the brakes. I had the brake lines, calipers and front left wheel bearing changed. The brake pedal goes down pretty far before activating the brakes, and a lot of times if i apply a little too much pressure they don't work and i just start skidding. Also, if i'm going fast and start slowing down the van vibrates pretty violently. What could cause this, and estimate how much to repair?
- Why does my Ford Focus shake when maintaining 70 mph? I've got a 2007 Ford Focus hatchback. My husband did an oil change on it about month ago. Since then there's a vibration. Everything feels fine until you go 70 mph. While trying to maintain the speed the whole car shakes. It feels like it is about to stall, but doesn't or at least, hasn't yet. The shaking stops when accelerating or decelerating. Its an automatic and the engine light pops on and off. It only happens while trying to maintain speed in the 69-71mph range.
- Left Rear Wheel noise when taking a slight right turn? I have a noise coming from my back of my Ford Focus, ( woo woo woo ) for a while now, it's driving me crazy, I can only hear it when I'm in second or third gear when turning slightly to the right, also i just realized that when in star moving or my car is reversing for a second or two I can hear a squeeking noise. I lifted the car and checked the wheel and is moving freely with no noise whatsoever, it looked ok. I kind of run out of ideas can anyone give any suggestions please!
- I have a 2003 Ford Focus ZXE which shakes pretty badly between 35-55 miles per hour. Why? I have a 2003 Ford Focus ZXE which shakes pretty badly between 35-55 miles per hour. No one can tell me why. One person said it has to do with how my alignment is off/my tires, but then why is it ONLY always happening between 35-55 mph? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
