My car is having issues?

I'm currently driving a 2011 Ford Explorer Limited with a little over 115k miles. Within the past few weeks i have noticed that it has been shifting rough and even shifting after the redline which is at 6,500 RPM and making the switch instead at about 7,100 RPM (I have NOT been using the sport mode). The engine also has been sounding a lot louder (may have something to do with the exhaust) as well as it has been making whining noises at higher RPM which sounds just like a supercharger… The car has been well taken care of and just want an idea of what the problem may be.

Time for a visit to the car doctor…

Today the trans has its own computer system and yours could be going out… Check e-bay and buy a good use one for a new one cost you…

Obviously, check the level of the transmission fluid. If the fluid isn't low, consider adding some Lucas Oil Transmission Treatment. If your transmission isn't too far gone, it can make a difference. Worst case scenario, you wasted $14.

See a mechanic. He will check the trouble codes for you and do some inspections. Could be a failing speed sensor.

You shouldn't be anywhere near the red line ever. Red means stop. As in stop driving it now. If you can't drive it with the revs lower, tow it to a trans shop.

Because most people don't know how to maintain a car. They think they have to change the engine oil and there all set. But the truth is You should change your transmission fluid and your coolant every 60k miles or earlier. People never do this and then wonder why there transmission is slipping or there headgasket has blown.

  • Having issues on troubleshooting my wife's 2000 Ford Contour SE V6 2.5 DOHC? After driving for about 3-4 miles it starts to jerk and loose power. Almost as if someone is hitting you from the back. It's not throwing any codes or making the check engine light come on so that tells me it can't be major. I hope. I have changed the fuel filter, added Techron concentrated fuel treatment, changed the (CPS) camshaft position sensor, changed the oil and filter. I also replaced the air filter and cleaned the MAP sensor. What else can it be? Someone please help.
  • Having a little car trouble. Can anyone I have a 2005 Ford Five Hundred. My engine light was on and the car started misfiring. Went to AutoZone and they code checked it with their machine and it said that the third coil pack was bad. Change that and the spark plugs. It still jerks and now when I accelerate the engine light blinks. Anyone know what it could be?
  • I'm having issues with my 2012 ford focus heater? I'm running my heater for over 20 minutes on my way to school and by the end of my drive one of my 4 vents is blowing luke warm air, the other 3 are blowing cold like the A/C. In March or April i had my radiator replaced and my coolant was flushed. I read that the hot coolant is what heats up something to blow the hot air? Also read that when the coolant is flushed it may clog something up which stops it from blowing hot air.
