Having a little car trouble. Can anyone

I have a 2005 Ford Five Hundred. My engine light was on and the car started misfiring. Went to AutoZone and they code checked it with their machine and it said that the third coil pack was bad. Change that and the spark plugs. It still jerks and now when I accelerate the engine light blinks. Anyone know what it could be?

Did you do the spark plugs and coil pack yourself? If so, did you reset the car computer so as to get rid of the check engine light? If the shop mechanic did the job, they should've reset the computer once the issue was fixed, otherwise the check engine will stay on. If the mechanic did the job and it still blinks, take it back and explain that they didn't fix it properly and they owe you money, or they should at least fix it for free. If you did it yourself, you'll need to find out how to reset your computer, which is pretty easy, you just have to read through some forums.

2005 Ford Five Hundred.

Did you happen to get the code reading from the OBD Meter, could have been wrong faulty error code,

Before you check further check all basics, oil and transmission fluid,

Verify air filter is clean or new,
Check all vacuum hoses, one leaking could stall car and cause faulty firing,
Check fuses and relays,
Check alternator and battery connections are solid, not loose or corroded,
Check spark cables are not cracked or loose, any where there's a short can caudpsevnpmisfire, if so seal or get new wire,

So many other issues could have created error and misfire, even with codes, they can be misleading if other factor was in play, likevwater in foul or foggy damp air in air breather,

If you have obd2 reader plugin, scan and verify orvreset

Is there another code Autozone can read out for you?

It reads as if you have more than one bad coil pack for it then. I could not know, but good job doing what you did, and good luck finding out the issue, gad damned cars anymore, designed to break shirt w/o the r.

Back to Autozone or whoever 'fixed' the car.

I would have changed the spark plugs and plug wires first.

This time look up the trouble code here and follow remedies

There's not a lot you can do without having a having a highly skilled mechanic with diagnostic equipment. Make sure the cylinder that is misfiring has spark, do a clear flood mode crank to listen to the compression of the engine. This video demonstrates it all.

Because it is misfiring( you could have started off with a container of gas line ANTIFREEZE dumped into the tank to take out any chance of water droplets being in there and burn a tank of fuel or half tank if you wish. It will sputter for a bit more until the water is now burned away. Maybe that stops the sputtering. Gas line antifreeze is $2.00 for a little container.
THAT MIGHT BE ALL IT NEEDED.

As the red light still is sensing a problem. Could be plugs. Could be fuel.(water in the fuel can and will block the fuel line at the gas tank end. Believe in the old ways for it could be an OLD problem… So old solution will fix it. 1 container of gas line antifreeze won't hurt the car nor break the bank. It may help. Once a year.
