My 2004 Ford explorer car battery keeps over heating?

First they battery exploded but I did not know, out of no where the entire dasboard stopped working but cuts off and on depending on if i'm still or slowing down. I got a new battery and its starting to still over heat and now the car battery dies for no reason. Ca anyone explain even part of this?

My first guess would be that the alternator is overcharging the battery.

Either the alternator is overcharging or the voltage regulator is bad - the alternator can be checked for free at some auto parts stores

So what does it possibly need to fix the issue?

  • My car is over heating? I literally replaced EVERYTHING I COULD THINK OF. My moms boyfriend is a "mechanic" but he seems to make everything WORSE. I'm so upset it's annoying. It's a 2007 Ford Taurus (a complete piece of ****) and I want to resolve this issue. I can't afford a new car anytime soon.
  • Ford Ranger over heating problem? I have a 2004 ranger edge 4.0L V6. I keep having a an overheating issue only when going up hill. I tried checking the fan clutch, doesn't even get passed one rotation so I think thats good. I don't think it is the water pump as that went out on me about 2-3 years ago and was replaced. Should I do a coolant flush? What are some other test i can do to determine the cause of the problem? Also it was bubbling/overflowing from the reservoir today (first time that has happened)
  • My car keeps struggling and misfiring after water keeps leaking into spark plugs? I have a ford focus 06 ghia and recently we took to a garage as was really sluggish and found we had water in spark plug casing. We have been told his is a common problem with this model! (wish I had been told about this before I had purchased the car) Has anybody had this problem and how was it rectified? Cheapest option:-( one poorly car at the moment
  • Why is my truck battery keeps dying? I checked everything in my truck 92 ford f150, It didn't have this problem until 3 days ago, also three days ago i let my one of roommates have some change out of my truck, and i didn't know if the dome light came on overnight, but i bought a new battery for it (everything is new in the truck) monday night, now tuesday night it won't start, it will not crank over, never had this problem with it, it only has 173k on it too.
