IPod interface in 2005 Ford Explorer?
I just got a 2005 Ford Explorer XLS, and I would like a way to hook up my iPod to the radio. I still have the factory radio. My first choice would be to install something that would let me hook my iPod up to the radio I already have (not an FM transmitter), and if that isn't practical I would like to simply install a new radio.
I do not want a tacky looking installation with a wire coming out of the dash, instead, I would rather install something into the dash in which i could plug a USB or 3.5mm audio cable. OR, if no such thing is practical, I would like to find a radio of the same size that has an aux in port. (It is important to me that the radio has green lights so that it fits in with the rest of my car)
I've looked quite a bit already but haven't been able to come up with any results, also I don't know what radios will be compatible with my car.
Ford explorer did have a few options for car stereo,
the basic ford radio was the single cd only, if you press the CD button when there's a CD inside your radio will display no dj or no cd if that is the case you can add a ford auxiliary audio input interface FRDN-AUX will plug into the back of the radio and let you input audio from any source including iPod iPhone

you can also use a ford ipod interface made for your vehicle, full ipod controls from the ford radio and will charge the battery

- Will a 2005 Ford Explorer 4.0 v6 engine go into a 99 ford ranger, if not what small trucks will it work with? I just had to rebuild the engine in my 2005 Ford Explorer 4.0 v6. Was wanting to know if it could go into a 99 ford ranger, if not what small trucks or cars are interchangeable?
- How to play my ipod music a 1991 truck? I have an old truck and an iPod touch. The truck doesn't have a USB plugin, it just has an am/fm radio. Is there a way I could play music from my iPod in my 1991 ford truck?
- I need help using an Ipod with my Ford Focus? I have just bought a 9-yer-old Ford Focus. I would like to but a cheap Ipod so that I can play tracks from my iTunes in the car. The owners manual hints, (without actually saying), that only certain Ipods will be compatible with the car. Does that sound right? If it is not the case, can I but any functioning Ipod and reasonably expect it to work with the car?
- How to connect iPod to sound system on 2005 Ford Fiesta? I recently bought a 2005 Ford Fiesta second hand and want to be able to play music from my iPhone through the car's speakers. Everywhere I look says to get an auxiliary cable, but I don't have an auxiliary input jack in my car. Just a 12 Volt Power Source which I assume doesn't connect to the sound system. Surely there's an alternative that allows me to connect to my car's speakers? What would I have to purchase? Open to any and all suggestions.
