Hi it means it needs a diagnostics check by a ford dealer. Due for a service most likely.
The Check Engine Light (CEL) signifies a problem with the emissions controls on the vehicle. Emissions controls are the features built into your car to ensure that the gasses leaving your car are as clean as they can be. 
Conventional wisdom says that when the "check gauge" light is on. You're probably going to want to… You know… Take a look at the gauges and see if any of them are reading higher or lower than normal.
The check gauges light is not a "Check engine" or "Service engine soon" light nor does it tell you when your vehicle is due for service.
It means you have a problem that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. You can go to an auto store and have the codes in the computer read for free so you find out just what it is that's wrong. Write the actual codes down and repost here for help to deal with repairs. Don't let the salesperson sell you anything. They are not mechanics and will just guess at how to fix your car.
Aside from the obvious, have the code read and problem diagnosed at a trusted shop or your local ford dealer
