How to fined the DTC on my 1996 ford explorer?
Where is it locketed
I'm not sure I understand? What is a DTC? I know what a DLC is (Data Link Connecter)DTC usually stands for Diagnostic Trouble Code so if that's what you're asking, a DTC doesn't have a physical location but rather its something you extract from the computer. If you're indeed looking for the DLC, its under the dash where the other poster mentioned.
Find/located. Usually under the dash on the drivers side
You need an OBDII code reader. It plugs into a connector under the dash on the driver's side.
- Welding on a 1996 ford explorer axle? I'm needing to relocate the shock mounts and leaf spring perches on a 1996 ford explorer axle. Can I simply weld them back on in a different spot, or do I need to preheat the surface before welding? What material is the axle tube made out of? It appears to be just steal, but I know the pot is cast. Anyways, i just needing someone's opinion before I started welding.
- Tire pressure for a 1996 Ford Explorer? I will be driving a 1996 Ford Explorer 4x4 next week. I know that with the whole Firestone fiasco years ago, Ford has changed the recommended tire pressure; I can't find a definitive pressure recommendation. If it matters, I will not be going off-road; it will be 20-45 degrees F so there may be snow and ice; and I will be 9000 feet above sea level.
- My 1996 Ford Explorer will not start. SOMETIMES? There's no telling when my explorer wants to start. Usually once a week it just will not start, it will crank and crank but just won't start. I don't understand it. Then sometimes 10 minutes later sometimes 4 hours later it will start right up. It is driving me nuts and i don't want to pay a shop to fix the problem if it's simple.
