Tire pressure for a 1996 Ford Explorer?
I will be driving a 1996 Ford Explorer 4x4 next week. I know that with the whole Firestone fiasco years ago, Ford has changed the recommended tire pressure; I can't find a definitive pressure recommendation. If it matters, I will not be going off-road; it will be 20-45 degrees F so there may be snow and ice; and I will be 9000 feet above sea level.
The factory recommended tire pressures are on a small decal on the door post of the rear passenger side door.
Yup, read the information sticker posted on the door frame of your Ford to see what automaker suggests for recommended PSI for your specific year and model. Or, you can look at the Firestone site itself to find the recommendation.
