About how much would it cost if I want to convert my 2wd to 4wd?

Ok so I have a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. Don't tell me that I should of gotten it 4x4, it was passed down to me. Anyways how much would it cost with the parts required and average of labor to convert to 4wd. Trust me if I could have chosen a 4x4 I wouldn't have thought of it twice any dumbass answers will be reported. Thank you if you take your time to help someone in doubt

Maybe 10 bucks to put some 4x4 emblems on it. For real forget it.

It would certainly cost much more than it's worth. Before you start check to make sure the 4x4 frame is the same one as the 2x4. In many cases the frame is different. If it is the same you need to search for a donor 4x4 for the parts. If you find one and have the work done for you expect to spend about $4,000 up. It all depends on how much you pay for the parts needed. Don't be surprised to find out you need the 4x4 frame to do the job.

Yes… Forget it.

Sorry but it whether you like it or not it would make more sense to sell it and get a 4x4 version straight off the bat. The cost to convert it would probably be several times what the car is worth as it is. So your logical options are that if you want the 4x4 then you sell it and buy one. And if you can't do that, then you're likely stuck with what you've got.

And BTW (while I'm sure you knew this all ready) I feel I should inform you that the reporting function hasn't been working right for the past few weeks so your childish threats mean NOTHING! And seeing as how this is your first post in SIX MONTHS! I would also say that your threats would probably be just as meaningless even if it was, lol

It would cost you more money than it is worth. Sell it and buy a 4x4.

More money than it would to sell it and buy one with 4x4 its not so much the front axle and stuff its the electronics you would have to change the complete wiring harness under dash and under hood change ecm etc

Much more expensive than selling this one and buying a 4wd.

id be surprised if you can successfully report answers you don't like if they don't break the rules.
