How much would it be to convert a 1960s scout into an automatic?

I just want to know how much it would be, I don't want to buy an automatic one, because I don't think there were any made. I also would be using chevy or ford parts. Or do you have suggestions on what parts I could use?

Why would you want to? Are you crippled? In any case, it depends totally on the engine it has (or what engine you plan to put in it), as the bell-housings for automatic transmissions can be extremely different. I personally wouldn't budget less than $3,000 for such a project, and that's doing much of the work myself - which you are clearly not competent or knowledgeable enough to do - so figure double that at a shop. Furthermore, even if you could accomplish the difficult and expensive task, the vehicle would be ruined in the eyes of most people - a car or truck is only original and stock once.

Bottom line, don't be a wuss. Just learn to drive a manual.

  • Is there a time limit for sending in photos after a modeling scout asks for them? So I recently submitted some photos to ford models and they responded requesting more photos taken outside in natural light and with certain poses and attire. The only problem is that school work and daylight savings make this incredibly hard to do. It will take me at least 2-3 days before I have the time to respond, does this look bad? Will I be killing my chance before I even get it by not responding quickly? Also is it common for them to email back?
  • How much would it cost to make a 2wd drive f150 into 4wd? So i own a 1985 ford f150 stepside and i freakin love this thing its my first truck bought it myself and frankly the stepside is just sexy. But she's a piece of work! Which is fine. But i was wondering if anyone on here could throw me a price range on making it 4wd, i already need to replace transmission shocks and the rear axel and brakes so yeah! I know its possible and difficult and that a new truck would be more wise but i just wanna know a price range! Any help?
