Add line? There's an upper and lower mark on the dipstick. The low mark means you are a quart low on oil. You should be checking the oil level every 1000 miles and topping up the oil level to the upper mark and never let the oil level fall below half way between the marks.
Have you been changing the oil and filter every 3,000 miles? 5,000 miles if using synthetic oil.
Start it and listen for valve noise. If you hear ticking turn the motor off and tow the Exploder to a mechanic to have the oil pressure tested with an oil pressure gauge.

The great majority of the time the pressure sender is at fault. My approach is to blindly replace the sender - it is a high failure rate item and quite cheap and easy to replace. However, you must not drive the car while the oil pressure is in doubt.

Possibilities:
Faulty pressure sender
Faulty pressure relief valve
Clogged oil filter
Incorrect oil viscosity for the season
Badly worn engine bearings

Try changing the oil and filter, using the recommended oil for the season we're in. If that doesn't help, get the pressure sender tested and the oil pressure manually tested. If there's indeed low oil pressure, any amount of running the engine may damage it internally.

LOW oil pressure doesn't necessarily mean low oil level, Skippy. There are other reasons why your truck could be indicating low oil pressure. Could be a bad oil pump, or a blocked filter or one of several other reasons, but you'll need to have it checked by a professional mechanic to determine the REAL cause.
In ANY case, driving with low oil pressure is a BAD thing and you need to get it checked out soon!

Low pressure is different than low volume. You would have to find out why there's not enough pressure before ruining the engine.

Oil level and Oil Pressure are 2 different things. If the Oil Pressure is low the engine will make noise. The oil pressure provides a Cushion of Oil and when it's gone it makes noise. But since you didn't say, I suspect the Oil Pressure Sender is bad, an easy and inexpensive fix. It's good to be lucky.

Its a Ford, don't get me started
