Vehicle value question?

I have a question I haven't been able to find an answer to anywhere. I've found several websites stating that cars with previous rental history lowers value fairly significantly. Well, what about if the vehicle is the dealerships owners personal vehicle that was never registered and driven with a dealer plate for a year. Essentially I would be purchasing a "new" truck with 68k miles. Carfax shows all maintenance performed every few thousand and is up to date. But I've never experienced this odd situation. Is value still the same? Its a 2017 ford expedition el limited.

The maintenance records are very valuable with any car. Some people go for ex rentals and ex company cars because they are often very well looked after and when they go for sale they still have pretty low mileage. Also companies like that pretty much only go for good quality reliable cars. If it was a rental car, it may put some people off, but certainly not everyone, and ofcourse what people don't know won't hurt them in that case. You say it was the owners car, i don't think it would make a difference to the value.

The vehicle is worth a used vehicle with similar mileage. What is different is the warranty. Since the vehicle was never registered, the original manufacturer warranty starts when the vehicle is sold.

It was a demo. But is still valued as a 2017 in any case. A 2 year old used car.
My car is 12 years old and has 50K and has always been serviced. It is a TWELVE YEAR OLD USED CAR. I'm not selling because I lose too much and figure at my rate of use the car will last 30 years easily. Why bother?

Prior rental history does not affect value. It might keep some idiot consumers away but only because they are idiots.

  • Is a face lift for a vehicle a new generation for a vehicle? I heard that in 1989 Ford Ranger received a facelift but was a new generation or just a minor update that did not change the complete model of the vehicle?
  • Question about ford crown victoria fuel tanks? I have a 2001 crown victoria police interceptor. I'm trying to install a new fuel tank. Problem is that the new tank has a different style hole on top for the pressure valve regulator. Can I just use the newer style regulator that will fit the new tank or some kind of adaptor for the stock valve? Does anyone know where I can find a tank like the original, it has a recessed hole with tabs for that valve?
  • My question is about storing a car outside in the winter for a few months? I live in northern Minnesota but I always go south for the winter for about 3 or 4 months. I've got a 2001 Ford Mustang V6 with a hundred and thirty-five thousand miles. I'm planning on leaving it in a friend's backyard for the winter. Is there any precautions I can take in order for the vehicle to not be dead upon my return. I heard turning it on and letting it run once a week will help?
