Is it dangerous to drive a vehicle with this many miles/km?

My grandparents gave me their 2003 ford expedition eddie bauer as my first vehicle last week. It has 584,000 KM, but it seems to run smooth. I don't think i've been in a vehicle with that many, is it safe?

Added (1). thanks for the answers, my grandpa has put most of the mileage on it and he's very particular about keeping everything maintained so i think it's not a problem

Its safe as long as you keep it maintained and checked out as to brakes, tires, steering linkage and lighting. Don't hot rod it and make jackrabbit starts and stops and it should be ok. It might get some mechanical issues, but it won't be dangerous, just inconvenient.

NOT dangerous IF the car has been properly maintained and cared for. There are cars and trucks with many more miles on them still cruising along quite safely.

I had a delivery truck with about that same mileage. Not at all dangerous No problem as long as you drive it and look after it like grandpa did.

It is safe. The worse that can happen is engine or transmission failure. But such events will not injure anyone.

It is not how many miles a vehicle has done, it depends how it has been maintained. I know of many vehicles that have done over 500 000 miles

No

If it has been properly mainttained, no

  • How dangerous is water to a cold air intake? I have a 1999 Ford Ranger that I recently bought and it has pretty bad gas mileage and I'd like to fix that and the power behind the engine. Where I live we get pretty significant rain fall and some small puddles that you end up having to drive through. The last think I want to do is hydro lock my engine. Are heavy rain and small puddles actually a danger for hydro locking a CAI? Even if I were to buy one of the waterproof jackets?
  • How many hours of coaching has Christine Ford had so far and how many hours of total coaching will she have gone through before Thursday? Coaching from the hardcore Democrat socialists like her lawyer Katz that wears socialist t shirts at anti Trump rallies and her rabid associates paid for by Soros?
  • How many miles is too many? - 2012 Ford Fusion? I have a couple of questions for you guys… I found a 2012 Ford Fusion SEL that I like. The problem is it has a LOT of miles for a 2012, 97k to be exact. Is this something a car buying should stay away from? My other question is how well do 2012 Ford Fusions hold up? How many miles can it be expected to last if it has been taken care of? I'm looking for a used car 2009-current for around or under 13k. Have suggestions? Feel free to let me know!
  • Is a 1995 - 2001 second generation Ford Explorer dangerous or safe? No I have been reading that Ford Explorers will roll over even with good tires or bad tires (notably Firestone). Will the Ford Explorer rollover with tires made other than Firestone and is in a very safe or very dangerous unstable vehicle?
