I have a 2003 ford expedition xlt and it turns off on me while I'm driving?

I already changed the gas filter but i was wondering if it can be the relay or something else?

Well heres the deal, your going to have to troubleshoot. Do wiring harness wiggle test, ecm slap test, etc. Might help to run a diagnostic tool using real time feature, then using freeze frame just when it dies. If your fuel delivery climbed, it was probably an ignition related problem(calculated load and or fuel pressure). If it was a fuel issue, id bet the computer tries to increase load and change your timing.
your gonna have to get creative, or wait for it to get worse.
if you decide to see a mechanic, don't settle on just some tech, you want an electronic/troubleshooting specialist! There's no badge differing that tech from the parts changer, so do your homework.

  • Why did my car turn off while driving and smell burnt? I was driving my 93 ford explorer when it suddenly started sputtering. When I came 2 a red light it shut off and would not start up again. It still won't start today and its not a bad spark or misfire cuz I checked with screwdriver. Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong
  • I have a 97 Ford Expedition XLT 8cyl 5.4 engine. That shakes and poots? When my truck is in park it will shake, and when I drive my truck no matter how many miles per hour I drive my truck poots, what I mean by poots is the truck feels like it looses power or misfire. Can somebody help?

  • My car shakes while at idle and while driving? I have a 2001 Ford Escort Sedan… My aunt and I have literally tried everything except a new engine and a new transmission… Everything else is new and was all flushed and blown out and it's still shaking while idling AND driving! We're clueless! We don't know what else to do! Could it be the car slowly breaking down for good?
