Are Early generation GMC and CHEVY SUVs reliable?
Looking to buy a 2000-2006 gmc yukon or envoy, or 2000-2006 Chevy Tahoe, i like gm cars, but if i found a used ford explorer or expedition in good condition i would consider it.
Wath the hell is that?
Ah… The first generation Chevrolet Suburban was the 1935-1936 --
Any vehicle is reliable if it has had regular servicing. Nothing will be reliable if it has been abused.
Yes they are as long as you know about repairs.
The Ford modular engines, especially the 3 valves are notoriously unreliable and expensive to fix, the LS engines in GM trucks/SUVs are like Lego blocks comparatively, easy to work on and tough when done right. Make sure the Intake gaskets on GMs are good and they can last 250K + miles easily. The GM transmissions have some known issues, but again, easy to rebuild, though not super cheap they ARE worth what you put into them. A good weekend mechanic can work on the GMs, the Fords are boat anchors.
Obviously we want vehicles to last and are easy to maintain but 4x4/SUVs have extra parts, stresses and maintenance needs. The GM products are straightforward with designs and even if they need work are normally worth the effort, especially if you can do some work yourself. The Fords use cam "phasers", valve solenoids that plug up and chain tensioners that loose pressure and destroy the nylon guides.
Yes…
If you look at Consumer Reports vehicle repair histories you would not buy one.
Ok, but Toyota is more so.
- Which of the three truck company's last the longest? Ford, Chevy, or GMC? I'm 18 and my dad is getting me my first vehicle and wants me to drive a truck. Here in Texas drivers are a little crazy, lol. He's looking into trucks that are between the 10k-20k range. Which of the three last longest?
- Can i get out of a ford lease early? Or get a new car early? After my 2004 GTO broke down, i was forced to lease a 2014 Focus, for 3 years and had to get extended miles. Its been about 5 months since i've had the car and so far i hate it. Slow, cheaply made, stereo is terrible, no traction in winter, i don't like it at all. Is there any chance of getting out of the lease early or turning it in without hurting my credit, or even turning it in to lease a different car. Possibly a truck or taurus. Has anyone else been in this situation?
- Out of ford, GMC, Chevy and ram which is the best in safety, interior size and reliably? I want to get a tuck for my first vehicle but don't have any family who own any and most opinions on reviews are extremely bias.
- Is it normal that my 8 yrs son loves trucks, SUVs and cars so much? Like when a pickup truck passes by he would tell me, look mom it's a Ford F150. And he does this everytime we go out…
