1998 ford expedition 4.8l w motor, misfire or surging issue? - 1

This does this when truck is cold alot. Feel speeds of 55 -60. Now its at speeds of 45. Told it was coil issue. Replaced both of those, still same issue. No engine light coming on either. Had a full (long) block put in a couple years ago. Maybe some sensor

Hi well that is not a surprise really being that old and worn out old beast. What do you expect from a 17 year old car i really wonder.

FYI ford NEVER put a 4.8 L engine in expeditions. There's only 3 engines that have EVER been put in ford expeditions

4.8 L V8
Model years 1997 through 2004
16 valves

5.4 L V8
Model year 1997 through 2004
16 valves
Model year 2005 through 2014
25 valves

3.5 L "EcoBoost" twin turbo V6
Model year 2015 and later

  • 1998 Ford ranger Misfire Cylinder 3? So I'm getting a misfire in cylinder 3 and it has been preventing my truck from starting. Changed the Alternator, battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, cables and coil packs and ran sea foam through it. It's a 4 cylinder truck I don't know what the hell is the problem at this point very frustrated and just completely annoyed by it does anyone have the slightest idea of what this could be?
  • Someone tried to hotwire my 1998 Ford Expedition? Someone broke into and tried to hot wire my 1998 expedition. It doesn't look like they tried anything with the wiring harnesses or the ignition itself. But they cut three wires, a large red ground, and two smaller wires an orange and a red one that feed through directly above the red ground. I haven't got a clue where either of these two lead to. Any ideas?
  • 2007 ford expedition remote start issue. Went to use the remote and nothing happens. Replaced batteries in remote I push button and nothing. No sounds or anything. I used it once this year and it worked. I dobt have a manual cause I bought used from private owner. I heard something about a valet mode. I don't want to mess anything up. Any simple step by step solutions I might try that won't mess anything up
  • 1998 ford expedition clicking sound from center console? I have 1998 ford expedition. I have a clicking noise coming from the center console between the drivers seat an passenger seat. I thought it was the CD changer but I unplugged it and it still makes sound. When I have the rear climate control on it lessens the sound some. I think its related to the rear control. Any ideas? Is there a fuse I could pull at all and which one if so?
