I'm trying to jumpstart my 2002 dodge stratus but i think i'm doing it wrong?

I'm trying to jumpstart my 2002 dodge stratus but i think i'm doing it wrong. I'm using my boyfriend 1998 ford escort but it take a long time. Heads up it is snow too.

1. Turn off both vehicles.

2. Connect the positive(red) end of the wire to the "+" side of the dead discharged battery.

3. Connect the positive (red) wire to the "+" side of the good charged battery.

4. Connect the negative (black) wire to the "-" side of the good charged battery.

5. Connect the other end of black wire to the unpainted bolt on the engine block of the vehicle 30 cm(1 ft) away from the dead battery. This setup is used because charging lead-acid batteries produce explosive gases, which can be ignited by sparks.

6. First start the car with the good battery and then the one with the dead battery. Let both cars work for a couple of minutes, this way the discharged battery can get some charge.

7. Disconnect the cable in the reverse order:
With both engines running, first disconnect the black ends, remove black cable from dead car battery car body then black cable from good battery, then remove red cable from good battery and finally remove red cable from the dead battery.

8. Finally run the dead car battery car on the road for 30 minutes to let it charge its battery from the alternator.

If you don't tell us HOW you're doing it, then how can we know if you're doing it wrong?

Heres an easy solution for youI m trying to jumpstart my 2002 dodge stratus but i think i m doing it wrong - 1

  • Why can't Ford have the same quality as Toyota does? What are they doing wrong? I have to drive and maintain a Ford for work. Constant wiring, fuel pump relay, gaskets, water pump, and other issues. Many Toyotas are problem free other than maintenance. How does this happen?
  • Am I doing the mile per tank math wrong? I have a Ford Taurus 2002 and it's in bad shape, I know that. The internet says it should have 18 gallon tank and 20 mpg city. My math would be 18gallons X 20miles=360 miles for the tank before needing a refill oif all good. But I figured I've driven about 78 miles the last 3 days and have had to put in about 42 gallons of fuel in it. Am I doing the math wrong or do I really only get 1.85 miles per gallon from the car (78miles/42gallons=1.85mpg)
  • It's possible Blasey-Ford totally believes what she's saying yet Kavanaugh wan nowhere around. But how are the dems doing that? Roy More's? Accuser, Leigh Corfman (all the rest said they only kissed) must have formed her memory after the fact, as well. That was as out of character for him as these outlandish claims are for Kavanaugh. More's big "sin" was being attracted to 17 & 18 year olds. Not tweens. Seriously. Again: How are they getting people to conjure and shape-shift their memories and pull them outta theirAsses just exactly at the most destructive time?
