How long does it take for a mechanic to change a fuel pump in a 1.9liter 93 ford escort?
I'm trying to find out
It does depend on the technician, however in general a fuel pump shouldn't take more than a few hours to do. I've never done one on a 93 escort but i can't imagine it taking more than a few hours, unless the mechanic runs into problems such as rusted bolts.
Like BR said, the gas tank is directly under the rear seat, and there's an access panel so you can change it without removing the tank. It takes about 2 minutes to get the panel off (it's just 2 screws), about 5 minutes to remove the pump, another 5 minutes to put the new one on, and 2 minutes to put the panel back on. Additionally it's just 2 clips holding the rear seat bottom cushion on, so it takes all of 30 seconds to remove it, and about 5 minutes to reinstall it. It shouldn't take more than 1/2 hour… Though the book probably says 2-3 hours.
- Location of 1998 Ford Taurus fuel pump. Does it have a fuel cut-off switch? Car shut down suddenyl without warning. New battery and cranks but will not start. Suspect bad fuel filter, 130K miles and fuel filter has never been replaced.
- My 1999 ford ranger has 20 lbs of pressure on the fuel line. Do i need a fuel pump? After I tested the pressure and shut the motor off the pressure went down to 0 quick. When I just turn the key I don't get any pressure
- How long should it take to change timing chain? The truck is a 2003 ford 150. It has three timing chains. Took it in on a Monday. He said it will be done by Wensday. But no calls. And it is now Monday and I called no answer. Should I worry now?
