01 Ford Escort won't turn over and all the dash lights are lit up? Is there anything I can do?

I let my 7year old sit in the drivers seat in our driveway while I spoke to someone about our new used car just 10 ft away. She repeatedly turned over the engine quiclky 8-10 times before I could stop her. She says she turned the key all the way back and forth. What could she have broken?

Added (1). 01 Ford Escort won't turn over and check engine light, battery and oil lights are lit up after child repeatedly turned over engine.

Added (2). Just so everyone is aware I was unaware the keys were in the ignition as my grandpa had just checked out my new car and left them there he was in the process of telling what he thought when my 7year old said " Mommy can I sit in the drivers seat?" I assumed he had the keys! I thought I would add as there's apparently judgemental people on here that jump to conclusions without getting the whole story!

You are an idiot if you really left a 7 year old in the driving seat of a car with the keys in the ignition.
Hopefully your car will be taken away and crushed to prevent you doing such a stupid, dangerous thing again.

Turn the key off and remove it. If the warning lights are still lit then something in the ignition switch is probably broken or stuck.

With a 15 year old car there's an extreme likelihood that the ignition switch was worn out before you bought it.

You could try putting a few drops of household (3in1 type) oil on the key blade and inserting it into the lock and wriggling it GENTLY.

Otherwise you are probably looking at a new ignition switch and key.

Never ever never let let kids sit in the driver's seat, regardless of if the key is in the ignition or not.

Your heart when she got the car started and ran it out in front of a cement truck. You never leave keys in the ignition with a kid in the car! Get the vehicle jump started and then go have the battery charged.
