NOT SO! There's a reason for this and it must be CORRECTED!". YOU NEED an auto education. It overheats from s rich fuel mixture. Due to a dirty IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. All air entering engine comes from TWO places. Throttle body and this IAC valve that adds more AIR to keep converter in proper best range and to satisfy the O2 sensors. On all FORD cars the IAC is remove able for cleaning. $20-30 spent at any oil change place will restore proper air fuel mixture and COOL DOWN the converter after. DO NOT REPLACE IT! A NEW CONVERTER will ALSO get red and over heat too! Clean IAC will get things right for you.
Catalytic converters don't fail on their own, some other issue causes them to fail. If the converter is red hot it means it's being overworked because there's excessive unburned fuel in the exhaust. You likely have a misfire or some other issue that needs to be fixed As soon as possible, if you continue driving the car the way it is you will have to replace the converters and they are not cheap.
It's clogged and needs to be replace.
Converters can eventually get clogged up causing the red hot symptom but as propaganda said there's a reason it happened. On an older car it could be expected but unlikely on a 10 year old one so finding the cause now could save you the coist of a new one.

So i'm being charged $1300 to get it replaced and there's no pressure from thr torque converter will my tranny go out soon or what will happen?
