How negotiable are dealers when it comes to selling a used car brand they don't sell new?
I'm looking for a very specific car, a 2010-2012 Ford Escape Limited 4WD V6 with dark interior.
I'm wondering with a sticker price of $17880, a 2011 Ford Escape is available at a Subaru Dealer, which is next door to and not affiliated with a ford dealer. A comperable Escape over there's about $1500 - $7000 more depending on whether it is certified or not.
My question is that if the 2011 valued at $17880 is considered by NADA, Edmunds, and cargurus to be reasonable, about $50 +or-, how much room for negotiation is there. I hope to spend no more than $14500 - $15500 after taxes and licensing.
Now I can afford sticker and am paying day of in cash money, but I'm a first responder and plan to use this as a response vehicle, that cost money.
It has been for sale for about a month and is in good overall condition.
Very unlikely any dealer will come off $2000-3000 unless the car was way overpriced to begin with.
Find a private party and you might get a similar car for $2000 less.
It all depends on how long it's been on the lot and how much try paid the auction or previous owner for it.
- What Websites/dealers Sell New Mustangs? Besides the ford dealers, what websites sell new 2013/2014 mustang gt's or where can I get one? I live in San Jose California btw. All answers are welcome.
- What Ford vehicles with a 302 motor comes with a 4 barrel carb (and only comes 302 with a 4bc)? I have a 1989 mustang gt motor and I'm making it carbureted and I'm looking for any vehicle with a 302 that carries a 4b. I'm going to a junkyard where they don't help with finding vehicles, so it would be helpful to know what vehicles only have a 302 with a 4bc, that way I can look it up on the website and know exactly where its at.
- Looking to buy a car privately which hasn't been serviced in 4 years but only 9000km (they bought the car brand new)? As above. the car is a Ford EcoSport 1.5 titanium it has 9000km only but they say they've never had it serviced? should I stay away from this car? also, since there's no service history could this be a case of odometer roll back fraud?
- Isn't it hard to force the EU to buy our cars? Ford announced they'll stop making regular cars, and they don't want our gas guzzling SUVs? Or huge trucks. That's what part of this trade war is about fyi, our products that they don't even want. Interesting, but 10% vs 2.5% isn't exactly earth shattering on cars. Plus that article's talking about OBAMA'S proposed free trade not Trumps.
