Isn't it hard to force the EU to buy our cars? Ford announced they'll stop making regular cars, and they don't want our gas guzzling SUVs?

Or huge trucks.

Added (1). That's what part of this trade war is about fyi, our products that they don't even want.

Added (2).

Added (3). Interesting, but 10% vs 2.5% isn't exactly earth shattering on cars. Plus that article's talking about OBAMA'S proposed free trade not Trumps.

Few cars in the UK are american. They are too big for our roads and use too much gas.
We don't want them, so Trump can say what he wants.

It is especially hard when their Tariff on Our cars is FOUR TIMES our tariff on their cars.

And their Gasoline IS Twice as expensive as ours to fund all their socialist utopian programs.

Trump just wants to "level the playfield" They have been raiding our piggybank for Decades, No Wonder they are pissed!

They never wanted "gas-guzzling" cars as you put it. Gas is sold in Europe by the litre and is very costly (see chart at the link below). The purpose of those tariffs is to get various countries to the negotiating table. It is a step towards a solution for trade imbalances that have existed for decades not a solution unto themselves. You aren't looking at the big picture. As far as Ford goes… All companies are faced with meeting the demands of the market they exist in. The number one rule of successful business is to "find a need and fill it" not to make a product that is incompatible with the markets they find themselves in. It has been that way from the beginning. It's nothing new!
