I have a 2005 ford escape. Just making sure that 5w20 is the right oil?
Hi, I have a 2005 ford escape. Just making sure that 5w20 is the right oil?
Sounds about right.
That's what mine says on the fill tube, or said on the fill tube, car got stolen last week.
New lighter weight oils are becoming the standard, Some new Toyotas use 0w-20 and SAE has approved a new SAE 16 weight oil.
Actually check page 278 of this http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/05204og5e.pdf
Yes. The Escape I had the manual recommended synthetic oil.
- When I bring my car to get an oil hange at a ford dealership, do I just pull right into the service garage? I've never gotten one I'm a new driver. I was wondering if I'm supposed to pull into the garage (the desk and stuff is in the garage) or park, tell them I need an oil change, and wait for them to tell me to pull my car up.
- My mechanic put 5w30 oil in my ford ranger instead of 5w20. What could go wrong? Took my 2007 2.3L ford ranger in for an oil change, and they put 5W30 oil in it instead of the 5W20 that is shown in the book. Will this cause any problems, should i call them and have it changed/?
- Oil viscosity 10w30 vs 5w20? Been using 10w30 oil in 96 ford winstar and found out it should be 5w20 which am guessing is thinner is 10w30 too big a diff from 5w20 or is it ok its been 2yrs on 10w30
- 2005 VW Golf 1.6 or 2005 Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 2005? First car for a 17 year old who has just passed his licence. Both cost similar amounts for purchase and for insurance.
