Ford Escape 2013 Recall- Engine Splicing?

I will spare the details of a lawsuit against the company I recently bought a 2013 escape from and how that has effected warranty and everything else. I was driving my escape about 85mph when it jerked really hard and hasn't stopped jerking as I accelerate since. I thought it was the transmission. A guy through the now bankrupt dealership has been trying everything he can think of that he can do for free to solve the issue, the first thing he said is "I don't think it is the transmission and I hope I'm right". Last night I found out about the recall on the engine splicing issue. Does anyone have any experience with this? When I'm accelerating it is like the car isn't going any faster as I'm holding down the pedal, jerks and then speeds up. All I can find online for this descriptively is "hesitation". Half of my nightmare would be over if this is the issue so that Ford will fix it, but I can't find anything online that makes me more sure.

See this;

Engine slicing? Never heard of it.
