Ford Escape 2013 Recall- Engine Splicing?
I will spare the details of a lawsuit against the company I recently bought a 2013 escape from and how that has effected warranty and everything else. I was driving my escape about 85mph when it jerked really hard and hasn't stopped jerking as I accelerate since. I thought it was the transmission. A guy through the now bankrupt dealership has been trying everything he can think of that he can do for free to solve the issue, the first thing he said is "I don't think it is the transmission and I hope I'm right". Last night I found out about the recall on the engine splicing issue. Does anyone have any experience with this? When I'm accelerating it is like the car isn't going any faster as I'm holding down the pedal, jerks and then speeds up. All I can find online for this descriptively is "hesitation". Half of my nightmare would be over if this is the issue so that Ford will fix it, but I can't find anything online that makes me more sure.
See this;
Engine slicing? Never heard of it.
- What should I buy and why? 2013 ford fusion it 2013 civic coupe? I like the sporty edge of Both the coupe and fusion, but they're very different cars. I'm a male. Want gas mileage
- What options do i have to increase the load capacity for my roof rails/crossbars on my 2013 ford escape? I'm planning on adding a roof tent option for my ford escape 2013 WITH moonroof. i have the factory rails and crossbars on at the moment but the manual says they are only good up to 45lbs. A roof tent is heavy especially with two people in so i need to upgrade my roof rack! What options do I have?
- Someone tried Syphoning gas last night from my 2013 Ford Escape? The tube they used is still stick out of the gas tank and it's stuck… How do I get it out without ruining or wrecking anything?
- Should I still Consider a Ford Escape (2013)? Beening Looking for a Smaller SUV (I have a Kia Sportage 2005). I have been liking the Hyundai Santa Fa Sport or Tucson (2013 or 2014 version) Then I saw a Ford Escape 2013 SEL version. Some of these are $5k less and have even more features (park assist) and stuff. But a lot of the Reviews online talk about all the recall stuff that is happening with this Ford? (I do realize people are more likely to write a negative review then a positive one). So should I still consider it?
