What options do i have to increase the load capacity for my roof rails/crossbars on my 2013 ford escape?
I'm planning on adding a roof tent option for my ford escape 2013 WITH moonroof.
i have the factory rails and crossbars on at the moment but the manual says they are only good up to 45lbs.
A roof tent is heavy especially with two people in so i need to upgrade my roof rack! What options do I have?
Hi so the car is not designed to take any weight like a tent which you may want to sleep in on top of the car. As the roof is not reinforced like on a land rover or similar off road truck.
Get an after market set of rails and rack.
- I'm looking at buying a Ford Transit custom SWB High roof. However, I know there's the 250 and the 270 models available I'm a self employed plumber so I'll be carrying all my tools and power tools with numerous boxes of fittings and pipework. Should I really be concerned with over weighting the 250 model?
- Ford Focus 2013 aftermarket audio options? Looking to drop $1000-$2000 for: radio (preferably single din with HD), tweeters, and door speakers. I currently have a single 12 pioneer rated at 300 RMS hooked up to a 200 watt mtx audio amp at 4 ohms on the factory radio. I also need a crossover to get the best audio output from my sub. If you could elaborate on all the details, kit options prices, that would be great. Will eventually switch sub and amp as well, want it to bang hard. Above 1000 watts
- Kayak on roof with no crossbars? I have a Ford explorer that came with the roof rails that run front to back on both sides but do not have the crossbars. Is there a secure way to secure a kayak on top? One would think that there would be some sort of rack thing to use with these. But i don't know.
- 2013 Ford Expedition XLT towing capacity? The specs list the maximum towing capacity at 9200 pounds IF the trailer is equipped with brakes. What is the towing capacity for the XLT V8 pulling a trailer that does NOT have brakes?
